How to Look & Feel Fab With Zero Cash

1) Take 15-minutes as day of Me Time
When we are busy the last person we fit in our diary is ourselves.
I know that at times 15-minutes may seem impossible, but if we set ourselves boundaries and give ourselves some self-respect others will start doing it also.

Get excited, diarise this in your diary and get creative as you do something for you or something new each day. A few ideas can be so simple:
 
e.g. Eat my lunch away from my desk and even better if you are somewhere where you can see and breathe the clouds.
e.g. Read something that nourishes my soul, i.e a good novel or book is better than gossip magazines
e.g. Walk the stairs instead of the lift, take an extra 5 minutes getting ready to put make-up on, take time to breathe. I think you get the drift; this gift to you doesn’t need to be something major.

2)  Skin Glow
Stress can really take its toll on our skin. Let’s walk towards the pantry and give your face a nice little polish.
 
Ingredients
1 tbs Honey
1 tbs cold Milk
1-2 drops of Lemon Juice
 
This recipe will help tightened your pores and give you a nice glow. Grab the ingredients, apply to your face and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cold water and you are ready to spark.
 
 
 

alt3)   Have a Swap Party

This is a fantastic way to get new additions to your wardrobe at no cost plus it is a fun night for the gals.
If you have done the above exercise you will have enough clothes to start your own and share the below tips on how to declutter their wardrobes so you can have a fabulous night!

Pick a date. You can make this very simple by just having 3 tables marked as ‘cheap’ ,’midprice’ and ‘expensive’. Get everyone to mark their clothes with the corresponding post it note colour and their name. Drop the clothes in the corresponding table, play some music and let the swap begin. So simple and so effective!
  
 

4)   Give thanks for 3 things alt

Since we are already counting why not start to fuel our souls and open a vacuum for some greatness to come into our lives. When times are tough it is very hard to remain positive and we can find ourselves talking & thinking about all the things we don’t want and forget to focus on what it is that we really want from our situations. This is such a simple exercise to shift our thinking from lack and start to welcome abundance, and moving closer to feeling fab.
 
Ingredients
Pen & Paper
Lungs
 
It is great if you write these 3 things on the same piece of paper or notebook so you can start stacking up your gratitude. Just take a deep breath and as your exhale let all of the negative thoughts blow out. Grab your pen and write your 3 things to give thanks for. Again, it doesn’t have to be major.
 
e.g. I had a nice smooth run on my way to work, the kids helped me get ready in the morning, my computer is running smoothly today. You are welcome to get carried away and try for more.
 
 
It is from joyous happy states that we can create better opportunities and ideas in life. “You can never solve a problem with the same thinking that caused it”.

Did you know ….

On average women only wear 20% of their wardrobe 80% of the time.  The rest is just hanging there.

On average women own 100-500 items of clothing with an average cost of $50-$100 per item.  This includes small to larger items.

On average women are wasting every 5-6 years $6,000 on clothes they don’t like or wear, yet I still have not met a woman that is never going to shop again. So guess what happens as we mature?

 By the time a woman has reached her 40’s she has on average wasted $24,000 on clothing (doesn’t include beauty products - this is a different poll) and is still not happy!

A very quick way to find your statistics is every time you wear a garment turn the hanger the other way around facing you.  You will find out ‘your’ 20% in no time and your 80% hanger-ons.

What is Self-Image & What Image Do you Carry About Yourself? 

Have you noticed that wherever you go you turned up?

If your mirror could speak what would it say about you?

If we could transcribe your thoughts about what you think about yourself, say while you get changed and when you see your mirror reflection.  How would this script read?

 

Let’s talk now about our wonderful self-image.  As you know, this is my passion: for all of us to be proud owners of a glowing picture of how we see ourselves, as this is a true reflection of how others perceive us.  

Working with thousands and thousands of women we encounter wonderful gorgeous women who have temporary distorted self-images of themselves.  You may know someone or know what I am referring to.

When we think our thighs or a certain part of our body are a lot larger than we think; 

When we have been brought up to belief certain rules on what is appropriate and what isn’t at a certain age or size, not leaving us with very much from our ‘clothing menu’; 

When we keep buying the same ‘story’ and when we open up our wardrobes and our clothes have twins hanging there, the same styles over and over again;

When we keep trying to experiment with clothing costing us our precious time and money without an overall success.

 

Why do we at times have a distorted image of ourselves and what can we do about it?

Our self-image is the portrait that we carry about ourselves every day.  Not a day goes by that we don’t carry this perception on how we look, on what we don’t like and like about ourselves.  

This portrait is carried around ….everywhere from job to job, one relationship to another, to countries when we travel or relocate and year by year.

·     Is it a fantastic glowing beautiful woman who wakes up in the mornings celebrating her true essence?  

·    Do you open up your ‘castle doors’ (your wardrobe) and have a wonderful selection of colours, styles and accessories that celebrates your true potential against an obituary of your past challenges and current frustrations?  

·     Even though we may not be at our perfect shape (or be as youthful as at times we wish we were), are we happily achieving our self-image goals and always focusing on bringing our best features alive?  

  

There are not many women who wake up in the morning, open up their wardrobe and say “I cannot wait to get dressed”!  

This is my personal mission: to show women this wonderful gift and how it is every woman’s right to feel and look her best.  And, it is truly so simple when you know how!   

 

Remember fashion comes from the outside and style comes from within!  

 

Whether you like it or not we are going to have to get up every morning and put clothes on our bodies.  

However,  how about this as a concept… instead of our wardrobe being a true reflection of what we don’t like about ourselves, why not make it a showcase of our true uniqueness, a celebration of who we really are and start to ‘adorn’ our bodies with pride, love and appreciation .

Are altyou your worst enemy? - 3 Steps on how to quickly boost your self-image!

Did you know that 8/ out of 10 women and 4 out of 10 men are not happy with their current image and would love to find ways to make some improvement to enhance their self-esteem?

Are you happy with your current mirror reflection?

Are you working out consistently and still not content with your body since it does not match the mental picture you have in mind?

Our bodies are beautifully wired and every thought, movement & emotion play big part on forming ‘our’ self image which reflects highly on ‘our’ self-esteem.

 

Body perfection is not the foundation of high self-esteem!

Hmm, you ask.

Yes, that is correct. Flick through your favourite magazines and you will find a number of celebrities who battle to match their own mental self-image. Y

ou would be surprised to know that in an interview Nicole Kidman she talked about a lot about how she wished to have looked differently; she wished she had more curves like Marilyn Monroe.

In an interview with Cherlize Theron said that she did not see her self as beautiful! Yes, it seems strange that most of these body-beautiful women are not content with their outer image.

Whether you want to change your body or just come to terms with who you are, isn’t it time to start accepting and embracing our bodies?

You have probably heard me talk in the past about learning to flaunt ‘your’ assets and learning the art of optical illusion to camouflage those less flattering areas (which we all have). It may sound a little like a broken record; however as the couple of above examples show it is very rare that someone is 100% satisfied with their bodies. There will always be something they wish to change now and in the future.

So, what can I do to boost my self-image you may ask? Here are three quick, simple steps to boost our self-image and internal portrait that we carry about ourselves

 

1) Be gentle with yourself and begin to celebrate ‘your’ uniqueness.
It is very unhealthy to compare ourselves to someone else or to unrealistic mirage an unrealistically mental picture of ourselves. A person who looks beautiful (whom maybe you admire) could also dislike their body appearance. Did you know that 90% of adult females have cellulite? Ninety percent!

Let’s start focusing on ‘your’ own physical assets. It is healthy to start by accepting that no-one is perfect and it is harmful for your self-esteem if you play the 'waiting till... “when” game'  (when I am thin enough, pretty enough, fit enough, anything enough). If we are not careful these years can catch up with us!


2) Take stock of yourself.
Of course, it is healthy to have goals and self-image goals. There is nothing wrong if you wish to maximise your self-image potential. In fact, it is encouraged. Workout more, eat healthier, buy new clothes, get a new haircut; however again set realistic expectations that will thrive you as you see yourself achieving them.

For example, if you have beautiful eyes or face. Why not get yourself a new hairstyle? If your facial face shape permits, why not a fringe that frames your beautiful eyes so others can notice? Or get a haircut that will enhance your facial features even further (however, ensure that your hairdresser understands the principles of your facial structure and your colour complexion).

Also, did you know that the two things that will outdate your look the most is hair & shoes? Not that a woman needs another pair :), but I have just given you another excuse to hit the shoe stores!

 

3) Take a healthy pride of your outer image.
‘Healthy’. Becoming obsessed with anything creates negative energy and expectations. It is the small things in life that make big differences. There are a lot of handsome men walking around the streets with dirty shoes and nails. There are some women who are very beautiful vivacious and fun people however they are false advertising themselves.

As their exterior reflect the contrary, they look like someone who you may you wish to invite over to your home to tidy up your book collection.

So, let’s ‘declutter’ our self-image!  Every time you catch yourself with a disempowering negative self-image thought ask yourself …

 

Would I say these things to my best friend? Let’s feed our bodies & mind some healthy thoughts and be kind to ourselves. There is a New Year here so let’s break the cycle today!

How to build a ‘Tran-seasonal Wardrobe’. Turn your summer clothes into cosy winter outfits in a flash!

The weather is getting colder and all the sudden we are starting to wave goodbye to our summer dresses, tops, skirts and shoes that we had invested only a couple of month ago and we start to put on our winter-thinking-woolly-hat on what to wear this season.
Before we give our summer clothes the ‘winter lock-out’ let’s spend a little time seeing how we can ‘warm them up’ and ‘spice them up’ to make them look like latest catwalk creations.
 
A ‘Tran-seasonal Wardrobe’ is a wardrobe that has been creatively been invested in. One of our shopping secrets that we teach is to ask yourself before you buy a garment the 3x3x3 rule.
 
3        Can I make this casual 3 different ways

This simple “3 rule” gets you thinking ahead so when you introduce your new recruits to your existing wardrobe you have endless combinations against another ‘orphan’ waiting to be paired L
 
You constantly hear me saying that we do not need a million dollars to look like one. Style is all about flaunting ‘your’ unique assets and learning how to look at clothing so differently. And, we teach our clients just that. 
 
Remember our goal is to be able to create out of 13 garments over 60+ combinations. 
Would you like to know one of the secrets on how to just that?
 
For this exercise you need:
  • Minimum of 45 minutes of me time
  • Summer Clothes (dresses, shoes, skirts, singlets etc)
  • Winter warmers (i.e. merino long sleeves, thermal tops, merino singlets, hosiery, scarves & if you have one waistcoats as they are fab for layering)
  • A glass of wine to make it fun and let’s get creative!
  • Learn to count 1,2,3
 
Ok grab a summer item of clothing i.e. this summer dress and ask yourself the rule of 3:
 
Can I make this garment tran-seasonal 3 different ways?
Grab your Winter warmers and see how what creative combinations you can create.
Try different looks i.e. a casual look, work and a going out look.
 
Example below: We have an gorgeous summer dress which looks great with some summer wedges, strappy sandals however with a little ingenuity we can ‘warm’ up this dress by introducing it to your ‘winter warm-ups’.

A merino long sleeve top to go underneath, stockings or leggings, your summer shoe can be converted to winter, a belt to accessory, together with your nice cosy winter coat and scarve and .. voila! A total new look.
